The Silk Road was probably the most important development in human history as it brought trade and contact between eastern and western cultures. The Silk Road consisted of several principal routes and has been the meeting point of many cultures and a diversity of people, linking China, Central Asia, Iran, Syria and Turkey.

Discover in-depth culture, history, people, and astonishing landscapes, including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Xian, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz. Explore the amazing market town of Kashgar, where 200,00 people gather every Sunday and travel thorugh the Pamirs and the mighty Karakoram Range into Pakistan through the
mighty Khunjerab Pass, legendary Hunza and the marvel of modern day road building - the Karakoram Highway

Uzbekistan features some of the oldest towns in the world, as well as the Silk Road's most important centres and the region's architectural splendours. Explore the ancient desert town of Khiva, the old citadel and mosques in fabled Bukhara and marvel at jewels of Islamic art in legendary Samarkand, from which Tamerlane the Magnificent annexed an empire from the Mediterranean to Delhi. His heartland was the Oxus River Valley, the lands of the Central Silk Route and the surrounding Karakum and Kyzylkum deserts.

We conclude our journey in Iran, once known as Persia; an ancient seat of civilization and high achievements in poetry, art, architecture, science and history. Centres like Persepolis, Shiraz, Esfahan, Mashhad, Kerman, Bam and Yazd proudly portray rich history even today.
